Fernanda Polacow has worked for over ten years in the non-profit sector and in the field of sustainable development, participating in community programme development, public health campaigning, public policy framing, research development, communications strategy development and implementation and PR campaigns.

Fernanda worked for three years as the Communications Manager at AccountAbility, based in London, and was responsible for the overall external communications strategy for both the organisation and across its business units, including research and policy-related work, corporate sustainability standards and advisory services for clients. Her work was also spanned across all regions like Europe, US, Brazil, China, Middle East and South Africa.

Previously Fernanda worked in Brazil and Portugal to advance public policy in the health sector, to develop programmes to decrease children mortality and to generate awareness among the public and private sectors in the public health area.

She has participated in the research with the Amazon Fund on new climate institutions arrangements (Radical Simplicity in Designing National Climate Institutions: Lessons from the Amazon Fund) and has authored and co-authored some articles for media like the Financial Times, Times, Fortune China, Ethical Corporation, Impactus, Ideia Socioambiental, CIVICUS, Ethical Performance, etc.
